Hazard Perception Test

- Take our FREE online Hazard Perception Test
Welcome to Find Your Instructor`s free DVSA based hazard perception test. We have secured lots of hazard videos from the DVSA mock test bank to prepare you for this tricky second part of the actual theory test. In our mock tests there will be from 1 to 20 clips for you to go through. Most clips will contain one hazard but some may contain two so keep your eyes peeled. Hazard perception is all about how well you can recognise and respond to an emerging hazard. A hazard is anything that requires you to take action, for example slowing down or changing direction.

In each video it will appear as though you are driving along the road looking out of your car windscreen. As you see a hazard emerge you need to click to confirm you have spotted it. The earlier you see it the more marks it is worth. Eagle eyed students can pick up 5 points for an early spot. As the time passes and the hazard becomes more obvious the points available reduce down in single units to 1. If you have not clicked by then you will get zero points for that hazard. By the way - Avoid clicking like crazy or running to a pattern as this is very risky in your real test.

We hope this helps you prepare well for your hazard test. To keep this facility available for others all we would ask is that when you are ready to start driving lessons you give this website a chance to find your ideal, local instructor.

Hazard Perception Test Format Your real hazard perception test will be taken in an approved test centre. It comprises a series of 14 clips in which you can score a total of 75 marks, you must score at least 44 marks to pass. So that is 59%. During your official test, each clip will have one hazard apart from one clip which will have two. Make sure not to click in a pattern or click continuously as you will then probably score no points for that clip. Practice makes perfect so please use our test as many times as you like until you feel ready.
