Oldbury Driving Instructors

Oldbury is a fairly small town with a population of approximately 13,000. Oldbury is set within Sandwell and is considered a part of the Black Country. Oldbury is located not far from the M5 and M6 and has good transport links into Birmingham City Centre and Dudley.

With Oldbury being a fairly small town, when looking for a suitable driving instructor it may be wise to look in the surrounding areas as well as Oldbury to ensure you have enough options. Whilst it is small, Oldbury is still a very urban area with lots to offer learner drivers, there are large islands, complex traffic systems and also quiet industrial areas perfect for practicing those tricky manoeuvres.

Once you`ve started your lessons and are beginning to feel more confident it is a good idea to get your theory test booked in as you won`t be able to put in for your driving test until you have passed the theory. Oldbury doesn`t have a theory test centre however, there is one just down the road in Dudley at the Trafalgar House on Kings Street. Again there is no practical test centre located in Oldbury, the closest one is in Kings Heath at the Cocks Moors Woods leisure centre. When choosing your driving instructor make sure to have a chat about where you will be taking your test as they will be able to adapt your lessons to certain routes that will be useful for you to practice. Getting to know the roads and traffic systems around the area of the test centre will boost your success rates.
